Tod Peterson is a board-certified and doctorally prepared Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. While he is trained to treat all ages across the life span, he treats clients from 18 years old and up.
With over a decade of mental health care experience, he has treated adults with a wide variety of mental health needs. This includes crisis stabilization for hospitalized clients, as well as ongoing medication management and brief supportive therapy in an outpatient setting. His work experience includes several years in the private sector as well as the last 5 years with the Portland VA Health Care System.
He has served his community and abroad in various capacities. He is a retired Jail Deputy with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and retired from military service in the Oregon Air National Guard.
Tod believes his role as a mental health provider is to come along side and work with his clients as a team. He understands no one is more familiar with someone else’s health care journey and needs. .
While it’s not always possible, his goal is for each client to have a full recovery with their mental health issues. Each client has their own unique strengths and weaknesses. Tod wants to help each client bridge the gaps of their health care needs with medication management as well as brief supportive therapy.
